FAQs
What is your hourly rate?
Our basic hourly rate for web design, maintenance, and development is $95. However, custom programming and other specialized developmental processes can cost more per hour. Keep in mind that we bid everything up front, in writing, so you'll always know the exact cost for your project. We'll never keep you guessing if there will be hidden charges down the road.
Of course this is just a guideline, to get an accurate quote for your project, please fill out a proposal request.
What is your process for building a website?
In a nutshell:
- Project Scope. We initially gather important information about the project scope, including a rough idea of website size and functional components (like directories, calendars, Flash animation, shopping carts, etc.).
- Project Estimate. We provide an easy-to-understand, comprehensive estimate. The estimate is based on one total project cost, with no surprise fees down the road.
- Creative Discovery. With an approved estimate, we move into a “discovery” phase, including a creative brief questionnaire, production schedule, and checklist of needed items to begin the project.
- Site Architecture Planning. Next, we work with you to create a flow chart or site map of the new site and draft “wireframes”, which visually display the content needs of the pages.
- Design Concepts. Our creative team then assembles a new “look and feel” for the site – usually consisting of a home page and “interior” page templates.
- Development and Build-out of Website. Once the interface design is approved, our developers build the pages, navigations systems, other site components, and content management system (if required).
- Quality Assurance (QA) Site Review and Testing. We review final website files and coding for link integrity, image display, navigation consistency, and correct functionality.
- New Website Launch. Upon final client approval of the new website, we archive any existing website files (from a previous site), and launch the site to the public.
- Website Administration Training. Finally, we provide basic training of administration of website via phone, interactive online meeting tools, and web-based video presentation.
How long does it take to build a website?
In our experience, a basic 15-30 page website takes approximately ten weeks to complete. This involves quite a bit of interaction and approvals on the client side. Obviously, this is just an average. Larger and more complex sites can take much longer, depending on a number of variables. We provide written production schedules that estimate the various stages of development along the way.
