Our People & Experience
People make the difference. From project management follow up to strategic planning sessions to the programming behind the scenes, our people make us who we are.

The people at NetPilot have been around the web world for quite a while. We have the creativity and skills to take your project further than you might have thought possible.

Our development team has extensive experience with web site programming, receiving college-level training, continuing education, and one-on-one online instruction by industry experts. Our team has experience with many types of web applications that serve a variety of purposes. Our programmers have experience in Java, CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), ASP, .Net, HTML, Javascript, PHP, CGI, Perl, Flash, e-commerce integration, web database design and integration, content management systems, and much more.

Our developers are trained in web development techniques consistent with the industry standard guidelines of the World Wide Web Consortium (w3c.org), including website coding and image optimization.

Get to know us a little better:

John Merry: Owner, Project Manager, Developer, Search Engine Marketing Specialist. John Merry brings a long history of marketing and web development to the project. With a 20-year background in marketing, a bachelor’s degree in marketing, and 13 years of experience in web design, John will ask the right questions to begin the journey of online success. Solid organization and process management gets your site created correctly, on time, and within budget. In addition to web development and database programming, John is trained in search engine marketing and optimization from the International Webmasters Association.

Marla Meredith: Creative Director, Interface Design and Usability Expert.
For more than 13 years, Marla Meredith has practiced, taught, and researched visual communication, information design, and user interface design. She currently oversees the design direction and development of client interactive solutions from concept to delivery, managing and directing a multi-disciplinary team of multimedia/web designers, develop­ers, and web analysts. Marla provides strategic guidance on information architecture, website usability, content development, and ADA website compliance. She has worked on a variety of applications — commerce, education, entertainment, finance, and medicine — for such clients as Hewlett Packard, ACS, Lockheed Martin, state of California, state of Arizona, and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.   

Marla has served as a guest faculty member of Washington State’s Digital Government Academy and is an active member in a number of associations in the field of usability and visual communication. Marla holds a bachelor’s degree in visual communication from California State University, Sacramento.

Michael Perry: Senior Multimedia Designer and Macromedia Flash Developer. Michael Perry has over nine years experience in web/multimedia design and development, and has been responsible for a number of award-winning user interfaces.

As a senior multimedia designer and developer, Michael works closely with the creative director and development team to understand the client’s strategic business, marketing, branding, functional, and user experience objectives, ultimately creating engaging and intuitive web sites and Internet products. He has worked with such clients as Lockheed Martin, state of Oklahoma, state of California, Hewlett Packard, Sony Ericsson, Apple, Motorola, Pedigree, Cadbury Schweppes, 7-11, and Vodafone.

Michael is trained and educated in visual communication. He is an expert in Macromedia Flash, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and is proficient in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.

Howie Grapek: Web Programmer
Howie has in excess of 20 years of experience with the Internet, in places ranging from Fortune 500 companies to small communities and volunteer organizations. He has been a pioneer in the provisioning of Internet services to the business community in the following capacities: Manager of the Managed Storages Services group at SunGard Availability Systems, Inc.; VP of IT for Women's Health Interactive; MIS Directory or Intellispan Communications; team member of Sun Microsystem's Mission Critical (High End Systems) Support Team; previous member of the board of directors of The Internet Chamber of Commerce; and Fort Collins Community Computer Network.

Robert Young: Database Developer and JavaScript Programmer
Robert Young is a teacher, a programmer, and a technical writer. He spent 3 years teaching Software Applications in corporate classrooms, and for the past 2 years he has worked as a Web Systems Developer for LTX Corporation. His tutorials on JavaScript and CGI programming are among the most widely read documents on their respective topics on the web.
